Stress Less

StressLess is a Web App created for the 2017 ArchHacks Hackathon at Washington University in St. Louis. The year's challenge was Health Tech, and our team of three had 48 hours to design and develop a working prototype.
We decided to focus on addressing Anxiety Disorders, which are the most common mental illnesses and affect 18% of the US population. We had two primary goals for the user experience: to calm anxiety attacks and track anxiety triggers.
The product we developed – a Chrome Extension and Web App – allows a user to trigger the extension when feeling anxious, then leads the user through clinically proven breathing exercises to help the user manage anxiety. It also automatically records the stress event and graphs the data, allowing the user to add additional trigger tags and see the trends of their anxiety over time. We built the application with JavaScript, utilizing the Chart JS library and Chrome data storage.
